Telephone Cloud helping clients connect with counsellor based in Wales… and Canada

Telephone Cloud technology is ensuring a counsellor’s mobile phone communication with clients stays crystal clear – despite him living on different sides of the world during the course of the year.

Clive Perraton Mountford, PhD, MA, aged 69, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who splits his time between Abermaw in North Wales and British Columbia in Canada.

But despite the 4,398 miles distance between locations, Clive is ably served by having his Welsh landline picked up on his mobile phone – saving him money and ensuring he is always on hand for his clients.

He has praised the work of independent telecoms company TelephoneSystems.Cloud which has enabled him to stay effectively in touch with his clients. The nature of Clive’s work means it is critical he has a reliable phone line to be able to support clients through their issues.

Clive said: “The sound quality of the calls is excellent – it is like having a landline on the move. I spend a substantial amount of time both in the UK and in Canada, and there could otherwise have been a problem with people leaving messages on a landline which may otherwise not be picked up for weeks or months.

“Telephone Cloud technology means my landline has been picked up on my mobile – it is of great benefit both to me and to my clients who are able to reach me wherever I am. I have also noticed there are savings as well which is a bonus, and I benefit from the dedicated service TelephoneSystems.Cloud provides throughout the year.”

Rather than specialising in particular kinds of issue or diagnoses, Clive offers an approach to clients emphasising the counselling relationship and promoting deep and lasting changes. His approach to counselling is grounded in contemporary Person-Centred practice, Experiential Focusing, and his own work in counselling theory.

Clive is one of a growing number of people who manage small businesses or their own practices who are embracing the advantages of telephone cloud technology.

In 2025, the Government and telecoms industry leaders will be turning off the telephone system as we know it. This means that analogue (PSTN) and ISDN lines will stop working, as the UK moves to new SOGEA lines.

TelephoneSystems.Cloud has already embraced cloud technology – and is determined to help people understand the transition ahead. It says there are huge benefits in prospect for both the business and domestic market – including cheaper phone bills. You can read more about the move from PSTN to VOIP and Cloud Phones here.

At present, people can make voice telephone calls on the same line as broadband – but this is being phased out. This means there will be no voice provision on the line and it will become broadband only.

Instead, people will use the new SOGEA (Single Order Generic Ethernet Access) line – broadband which doesn’t require a telephone line connection. New build properties are already being introduced without analogue lines and will have an internet-based connection.

Alastair Bates, Managing Director of TelephoneSystems.Cloud said: “We are pleased Clive is happy with the service we have provided and that he is getting the benefits of telephone cloud.

“Change is coming by 2025 but there are big benefits for consumers. This Big Switch, moving telephone services to the cloud and the internet – promises to deliver quicker broadband, cheaper phone services and more flexibility to give and receive calls and do so much more on your phone than you might already be able to do.

“People don’t need to worry about this change, but by acting now, they can make the change well in advance of the deadline in 2025 and enjoy the benefits of switching early.”

People will increasingly start to see SOGEA services being offered at a cheaper rate than their existing landline, and deals may come with a VOiP package as well. People can either decide to have a router upgrade and plug their phone into it,or opt for cloud based technology and have their landline connected to their mobile. Others still may decide to get rid of their landline altogether.

TelephoneSystems.Cloud prides itself as an ethical business in the telecoms industry – it says it is the only company in the sector to offer a contract free service – people only pay for what they need as the firm offers software as a service.
