The 200Bn Club Receives COGX Award for Leadership In Gender Equality

The 200Bn Club, an accelerator for female and underrepresented founders, is delighted to announce its prestigious recognition at COGX for its outstanding commitment to gender equality in leadership. This coveted award, presented during the COGX Festival, was shared with another great female founder, Poppy Gustafsson, the CEO of Darktrace which was awarded the Award for best CXO.

The 200Bn Club, founded by multi-award-winning entrepreneurs and investors, stands out as a beacon of change in the accelerator landscape with 75% of its graduate receiving funding. Unlike conventional accelerator programs, The 200Bn Club prioritizes the genuine growth and success of the startups it engages with, offering more than just cursory guidance.

The Award festival was opened by Secretary of State Michelle Donelan that emphasized the role of universities, startups, and regional clusters in driving innovation in the tech sector.

The award, presented by the esteemed Sherry Cotou CBE, is a testament to The 200Bn Club’s dedication to rectifying prevalent biases in investment and accelerator models. This recognition is a powerful affirmation of their commitment to fostering an inclusive investment environment where women no longer represent just 1% of all VC funding recipients. The 200Bn Club emphasized the significance of having role models like herself in the technology and investment sectors. Her presence and recognition underscore the importance of diversity and inclusion in leadership roles.

The journey toward gender equality has been a collective effort at The 200Bn Club. The organization extends its deepest gratitude to its founders, Dr Amber Ghaddar and Bridget Greenwood, as well as its valued 225+ VC partners. Their unwavering support and determination have been instrumental in achieving this significant milestone.

In addition to the COGX award, The 200Bn Club is delighted to share this recognition with one of its own startups, Sociate AI, and the outstanding Yasmin Topia, who received the title of Best Fashion AI Startup.

The organization extends its heartfelt thanks to COGX for this remarkable recognition and looks forward to a future where gender equality is not just celebrated but becomes the norm in the investment world.

Lastly, The 200Bn Club expresses its deep appreciation to the judges who believed in their vision of contributing £200Bn to the UK economy by investing in female founders.
