The Gore London – Starhotels Collezione launches “Hanging Out with The Stones” an exhibition by photographer Carinthia West at Bar 190

This
summer, to celebrate The Rolling Stones’ US tour, The Gore London – Starhotels Collezione is hosting
“Hanging Out with The Stones”,
an exhibition by Carinthia West, featuring
a rare collection of archive images showcasing the private lives of the legendary British band.

The exhibition serves as a meaningful homage to the band, as The Gore’s Bar 190 was also the location where
The Rolling Stones celebrated the launch of their Beggars Banquet album on the 5th of
December 1968. The young musicians were regulars of the bar, which at the time was already popular for its informal yet glamorous atmosphere.

Today, taking over the original Victorian walls of
the historic hotel’s bar,
the exhibition features an impressive collection of black-and-white and colour prints, including numerous pieces never publicly shown before. Visitors can look forward to discovering the band in unique candid moments, from unwinding at home or practicing for
upcoming tours, to participating in impromptu jam sessions, providing a unique and intimate view into
the lives of the Rolling Stones, in particular Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood.

West’s candid images will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the iconic British band beyond their stage personas,
revealing intimate moments of friendship, love, music, fun and Rock & Roll, showing the more unknown side of these legends.

With a vintage setting
and two limited edition cocktails – one special drink dedicated to Carinthia and the other inspired by The Rolling Stones – The
Gore’s Bar 190 will celebrate West’s exceptional ability to encapsulate the spirit of the 1970s rock and roll scene, reflecting the vibrant culture, hedonistic
lifestyle and ground-breaking music that defined the era. “I was fortunate to be a part of an extraordinary circle of friends during
a revolutionary time in music history. Like a diary, my aim was to document the genuine moments that made the Rolling Stones who they are, beyond the stage lights and public attention.” Said West of the
exhibition, in a forthcoming Saga Films documentary about her work, Mick Jagger comments “We’ve always
had photographers around, but Carinthia is a friend so hers are not posed. They remind you of the moments you’ve had when everyone seems to be enjoying themselves”.

“We are thrilled to host such a unique photography exhibition in the very venue that already hosted The Stones’
Beggars Banquet launch party 56 years ago. We are glad to see that somehow they are back to The Gore” comments the Hotel Manager J-J Pollak.

‘Hanging out with The Stones’ will be showcased at The Gore’s Bar 190 until the 17th July
with never-seen-before images of The Rolling Stones taken by Carinthia West. All photographs will be for sale in editioned prints.
