THE HILL GROUP DEBUTS NEW SAFETY CHAMPION MASCOTS WITH FLAGSHIP CHILD SAFETY EVENT AT ALEXANDRA PRIMARY SCHOOL

Renowned 5-star housebuilder The Hill Group, and recipient of the prestigious Building a Safer Future Champion award, joined forces with Alexandra Primary School on Thursday 8th June for a remarkable safety awareness assembly. This flagship event, held during Child Safety Week 2023, featured the debut appearance of Hill’s brand-new site safety mascots: Jack, Jill, and the beloved Hill Bear, Billy Hill, the builder bear.

Dedicated to promoting safe construction practices, Hill’s health and safety team gave a special presentation to 180 enthusiastic year 3 and 4 children, highlighting the importance of creating a safe environment while at work. Jack, Jill, and Billy then safely guided a select group of children on a visit to Hill’s nearby development, Lampton Parkside in Hounslow, which is being delivered in partnership with Notting Hill Genesis.

Child Safety Week, which took place from the 5th-11th June, is an annual UK campaign that raises awareness of the crucial role safety plays in protecting children in our communities. Recognising the importance of educating young people about construction site safety, the engaging talk helped to give the children a better understanding of acting safely and responsibly. Six students accompanied by the new site safety mascots donning the correct PPE clothing, including hi-vis jackets, and hard hats, were able to see a live construction site at Lampton Parkside and have their photos taken together. This event not only reinforced the importance of safety, but also provided the children with an exciting morning activity. And the event exemplifies Hill’s unwavering commitment to giving back to the local communities where it builds new homes.

Rebecca Littler, Group Sales and Marketing Director at The Hill Group comments, “At Hill, we uphold the highest safety standards across all our construction sites and encourage our stakeholders to prioritise safety as a core value. We were thrilled to share this educational safety event with the children and staff at Alexandra Primary School and unveil our adorable new site safety mascots, Jack, Jill, and Billy the builder bear – who proved hugely popular with the children. We would like to thank Alexandra Primary School for collaborating with us on this successful event.”

Mr. Norton, Headteacher at Alexandra Primary School comments, “We are delighted to have partnered with The Hill Group for this memorable site safety event to mark this year’s Child Safety Week. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn about the importance of safety on construction sites and develop a greater understanding of the importance of behaving responsibly.

Hill’s presentation truly captured the attention of our students, and their new mascots were an exciting addition to the day. We would like to thank The Hill Group for organising such an impactful event for our children.”
