The LEGO Group turns kids’ wish-lists into real life LEGO builds!

Following research that found over half (52%) of British adults deemed their own Christmas wish lists ‘boring’ and ‘practical’, the LEGO Group have been challenging kids to put their creativity to the test to reimagine their parents’ boring Christmas wish lists, injecting some child-like fun into their practical items.

Working with passionate LEGO fan communities from across the country, including London AFOLS (London based) and Northern Brickworks (North-East based), they have brought to life some of the best ideas in LEGO Brick form. The amazing builds are made from a total of 17,500 LEGO bricks and0020took 33 members from various communities over 30 hours to build.

From a talking robot coffee machine to rocket-boosted cat slippers and a toy-dispensing rainbow vacuum cleaner, the reimagined items masterminded by kids, act as a reminder that no matter your age, we should all make time for play this Christmas. In fact, 80% of adults who play admit that it not only makes them feel happier, but it’s also a great outlet to try new things and develop new skills.

Jonathan Gale from the LEGO fan community London AFOL’s, who helped build the books, added: “Being able to play a part in this campaign was so much fun and reminded me that there are no limits to kids’ imaginations! While I can’t say it’s every day I am asked to build books, it was really fun to have to think outside the box, just like the kids who entered this idea. It brought me a real sense of joy bringing this to life.
