There’s a Pilates class for everyone!
Pilates has such a varied array of classes and has evolved over many years. For those who think they’ve tried Pilates and it’s not for them, I always say you’ve just not found the right class for you. Beginner Pilates can be slow, and you may find yourself losing motivation, but learning the basic principles is super important. I teach a very ‘dynamic’ style of Pilates both on the mat and on the reformer, and you will most definitely come away having worked your butt off!

Pelvic floor for posture and flatter tummy
A flatter tummy starts from within! In Pilates, pelvic floor muscles are in constant use. These help to improve your posture and give the illusion of a slimmer shape, it also helps you to connect with your deepest set of abdominals; the transverses, which wrap all the way around the spine. By working these muscles, rather than your superficial rectus abdominals (AKA the six pack), you will achieve far greater results in terms of strength for your body shape.

PS. stronger pelvic floor muscles can also help improve your sex life too!

It doesn’t have to be high impact to be high intensity
Low impact exercise may sound like a bit of a cop out to some, but believe me, you can still get your sweat on without injury-risking high impact jumps. By using light weights and choosing full body combos which use multiple muscle groups gets the heart rate up and brings the burn. Focus on good technique and have fewer rest periods to make things more intense.

Listen to your body
Pilates offers a great alternative to high impact forms of exercise. If cortisol (stress hormone) levels are already high, then super high intensity exercises might make things worse and increase them. This can leave you feeling fatigued and burnt out. This is not to say you shouldn’t exercise if you’re feeling stressed. Exercise can absolutely help to reduce stress, it’s just about choosing the right type – less intense forms can help de-stress and reset body & mind.

Manifest the s**t out of life!
As a successful business owner and mother of three, I can honestly say I believe that I’ve visualized all my greatest achievements. If you want to feel the full benefits of Pilates, I’d recommend using the power of the mind to help you achieve what you want out of life. Manifesting is more than just thinking positively, it’s taking action on the things you want out of life, as if they will 100% happen. Anyone who’s successful to any degree, be it in business, relationships or money will have visualized what they wanted, intentionally or unintentionally.
