‘They are the most self-indulgent, narcissistic, whiney, privileged couple.’
THE DUKE and Duchess of Sussex should be stripped of their titles for their attacks on the monarchy, according to a leading Royal expert.
Social commentator Peter Whittle, director of the New Culture Forum, commented on the release of the second trailer for the forthcoming Netflix series “Harry & Meghan”.
He told GB News: “It has emerged this morning that they used an image in a trailer that was taken at a premiere at a Harry Potter movie back in 2005.
“That’s seven years before they even got married?
“You don’t actually have to even pick this kind of stuff up to discredit them, I think they’re doing a very good job of that on their own. I think that they are the most self-indulgent, narcissistic, whiny, privileged couple.”
In an interview with Bev Turner, he said: “Frankly, I don’t know why the King has not stripped them of the titles yet. He absolutely should, because that’s the only thing that’s keeping them commercial. They need those titles.
“It’s sort of emblematic of their general kind of shocking, high-minded, moralistic behaviour – all the things that basically turn people away from Harry and Meghan.
“I remember when there was the royal wedding, the level of goodwill towards them was extraordinary. They managed to turn it round and saying: ‘Well, this country is appalling, Britain is appalling
“There was extraordinary goodwill towards both of them. And what I can gather with this new documentary, they’re even going to have a go at Britain, the British people. It’s just outrageous.”
Mr Whittle’s comments come days after a GB News poll provided a boost for William and Kate and a blow to Harry and Meghan.
More than half of the public (56%) see William and Catherine as better adverts for the monarchy abroad.
This compares to 8% who opted for King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla, and 7% who selected Prince Harry and Meghan. The remaining 29% said they “didn’t know” or “preferred not to say”.
The survey of 1,208 adults was carried out by PeoplePolling, a member of the British Polling Council (BPC) and it will come as a welcome boost for William and Kate who have been met by boos during their tour of the US.
Commenting on the findings of the poll, Professor Matthew Goodwin of the University of Kent said: “These numbers once again show that, as far as the British are concerned, Harry and Meghan are nowhere near as popular as Will and Kate.
“More than half the country see the Prince and Princess of Wales as the better advert for the monarchy while not even one in ten see Harry and Meghan the same way.
“King Charles III, who has opted for a slimmed-down monarchy, was clearly right to push forward Will and Kate”.
