THIS IS ME CELEBRATES FIVE YEARS WITH VIRTUAL SUMMIT
This year marks the fifth anniversary since pioneering mental health campaign This is Me was first launched by The Lord Mayors Appeal. Now over 1200 organisations across the UK and internationally have registered for This is Me and made a commitment to ending the stigma in their workplaces.
To celebrate the five years of impact This is Me has had in the UK and across the globe, The Lord Mayor’s Appeal will be hosting its first This is Me summit on October 26th.
The Summit brings together a whole range of organisations from across the globe, providing an exciting opportunity for attendees to hear from inspiring speakers and experts in the field of mental health. These include the events chair, Barbara Harvey who is a speaker, researcher, and campaigner for workplace culture, belonging and equality and leaders from other supporting businesses, Barclays, PwC, Bank of England, Baker McKenzie, Deloitte and mental health charity MIND.
The summit which is free to attend, allows guests to choose the sessions that interest them most, creating their very own personalised programme of workshops and panels. The event aims to provide practical guidance, tools and ideas on how This is Me can help support businesses to raise awareness and end the stigma around mental health in the workplace.
Although initially a City of London focused campaign This is Me now works with steering groups across four regions in the UK as well as globally in India and Asia. Alongside support from the regional mayors The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor William Russell will also be speaking the summit.
“Poor mental health is an issue that touches everyone and in the UK it is estimated that 70 million workdays are lost due to mental illness annually. This is Me is a campaign I am hugely passionate about, and it has been fantastic to see the initiative grow each year, helping to guide and improve more companies in their mental health and wellbeing journeys. I am excited to be speaking at the summit and look forward to welcoming all of our attendees to an inspiring and educational event.” Commented The Lord Mayor of London.
