Time capsule buried to celebrate old and new

To commemorate the history and end of site at the Playfair at Donaldson’s and celebrate its new legacy, award-winning developer City & Country invited pupils from The Donaldson Trust to visit the development and share items for a time capsule which will be buried on site.
Staff and pupils from The Donaldson Trust, the school originally occupying The Playfair building, visited the development to place items into the time capsule, including information about the current pupils at the school, hand drawn pictures and handmade items.
The time capsule burial will not only honour the site’s legacy and historic significance as a former school but will celebrate the last three remaining homes for sale on-site as The Playfair at Donaldson’s almost comes to an end.
Angela Evans, Deputy Head Teacher from The Donaldson Trust, commented “Our visit to The Playfair at Donaldson’s was an exciting opportunity to visit our former school and encourage our pupils to learn about the past history of their school. The young people were really interested to see how the former school has been transformed, especially as some of our group had worked at The Playfair when it was the school, or had family who had previously attended. One of our staff here used to teach in one of the classrooms which we were able to visit.”
Angela continues: “Thank you to City & Country for providing us with this interactive learning experience and allowing the children to include their creations which one day, years from now, will be dug up and explored – a concept which they found very exciting!”
