Pause, the newly opened café-bar situated as part of Uncommon Holborn, announces a brand-new speaker series as part of its launch that celebrates the stories behind female chefs and their recipes. In partnership with Aphra, the inclusive book club and shop which neighbours Pause in Holborn, Pause Serving Stories will take place monthly, having launched in September with Kenyan/Nigerian American food writer, Kiano Moju. The series is designed to offer an exciting opportunity to spark creativity and culinary inspiration.
Sharing their culinary journeys and serving the stories in forthcoming events include:

– 24th October: Manon Lagrève, Baker, Cook and Great British Bake-Off alumni will be talking about how her French heritage influences her baking style and what drives her passion for classic French family cooking. Manon has become an inspiring figure in the food world, and she will be sharing ideas on how to ‘‘Host Like the French’ from her new book Chez Manon: Simple Recipes From A French Home Kitchen
– 21st November: Rosie Mackean, chef, food writer, food stylist and Pasta Queen is an expert in hosting a dinner party with ease. She will be sharing stories from working in London’s that inspired Good Time Cooking,

Each talk will be hosted in the cosy atmosphere of Pause, an intimate space where authors will discuss the stories behind their recipes, exploring the intersection of food, culture, and storytelling. With delicious soundbites, and food and drink served by Pause during the talks, this series celebrates the voices of women shaping the food industry.

Open to all, Pause, housed at Uncommon Holborn, the B Corp co-working and flexible workspace provider’s latest opening, brings new flavours to Holborn, with a simple and considered menu across the day and delicious platters in the evening which champion fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce, as well as artisanal products and suppliers; many of whom are also B Corp businesses. A relaxed and contemporary designed place to convene, sit, think, discuss and of course, eat. Pause Serving Stories celebrates the opening of Pause, cultivating an environment built for discourse and human connection.
