Wecasa celebrates one year UK anniversary by expanding its mobile at-home services further across the country
Wecasa, the online mobile wellness, beauty and home care services booking app celebrates one year in the UK and announces its further expansion across the nation. Having first entered the UK market in London in April 2021, Wecasa continues to work progressively to add more cities and counties to its remit. This expansion follows Wecasa’s $17.7 million funding round raised in 2021.
Wecasa knows how difficult the last few years have been and understands that self-care is more important than ever to assist with the mental load many are experiencing. The company offers a whole host of services that fit into your schedule, at home, seven days a week, including haircuts, beauty, massages, waxes, facials, mani-pedis, reflexology and cleaning services. They deliver straight to your door, helping you make time for yourself and your loved ones.
Growing and expanding fast
In just a year the search for spas and beauty services has risen by 100% according to Google Trends and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down. The UK, as a country, is coming back to its former self following the pandemic and its people love treating themselves to at-home beauty, massages, wellness or cleaning services to help with their busy lives.
In the past year Wecasa has seen a steady and constant 2-figure growth month on month when it comes to bookings of remote mobile home services. Cleaning is a clear front runner with 35% of bookings coming from this area, whilst haircuts accounts for 25%, Massages for 25% and beauty for 15%. Women continue to be the most wellness savvy individuals as 77% of bookings come from them and only 22.5% of those who book appointments are male.
Since April 2021 Wecasa has expanded from Central London to all over Greater London including Twickenham, Croydon, Kingston upon Thames etc. whose populations are all taking advantage of at-home mobile services. The next big step is Manchester where professionals are being recruited as we speak and things are moving incredibly quickly. In the coming months Wecasa is on track to expand to Birmingham, Liverpool, Canterbury, York, Leeds, Newcastle, Oxford, Cambridge and many more this year.
Skilled professionals come first
Wecasa does things a little bit differently when it comes to looking after their team. In 2020, 64% of Brits chose to shop local to support the community, Wecasa is committed to supporting this. The company prides itself on working closely with local service professionals, enabling them to take their own business to the next level by assisting them in developing their skills, growing their business and ensuring services are localised so they don’t travel more than 5km to customer appointments.
In the past year the company has built its network from scratch and has over 600 skilled professionals on their books, which they are planning to increase by 1000 in the coming year to help with expansion plans.
The passion among Wecasa’s professionals is clear to see and hear, Nikolay Voronkov, Wecasa professional hairdresser and comedy club owner said: “In comedy you get a rush when you can connect with the audience & make them laugh, the same could be said when cutting hair. Making someone look amazing simply by cutting their hair gives me a great sense of accomplishment as well as pride.”
Fola George, Wecasa professional cleaner said: “The demand for cleaning has increased significantly since the end of restrictions and the fact that my loyal customers can continue to book me through Wecasa whilst I continue to gather more customers through the app is a massive plus, which helps me to maintain my lifestyle and make work, work around my life.”
New verticals
Wecasa has steadily been adding new categories to its line-up of professional service offerings including lash extensions, Thai massages, lymphatic Drainage massages, anti cellulite massages and baby-boomer beauty. The company strongly believes that there is a huge market opportunity to become a one-stop-shop for most service categories.
CEO Antoine Chatelain, Wecasa said “We are incredibly excited to be celebrating a full year in the UK and to continue to be working with some of the most skilled professionals in the industry. We are on a mission to bring awareness of how self-care and me-time can bring calm, happiness and help with mental health. We envisage a world in which self-care fits seamlessly into any schedule — this vision is at the heart of everything we offer.”
