Women who developed Oxford vaccine to join Life Lessons line-up at Chiswick House

It has been announced today that Professor Sarah Gilbert and Dr Catherine Green, from the team of scientists behind the development of the Oxford vaccine, will join a plethora of famous faces on stage at Life Lessons 2021.

Last week we announced that Life Lessons, the festival which helps people live well, will take place at Chiswick House & Gardens between 16th – 18th July 2021. Previously, visitors to the festival packed out the Barbican Centre, but this year visitors will enjoy the great outdoors instead.

Sessions across the three days will cover diverse themes from health and happiness to general well-being after lockdown. Lectures will also centre on how we can live better together, and how we live better for the planet. 2021 guest speakers include Dr Rangan Chatterjee, Brian Cox, and Claudia Winkleman and tickets will be available for pre-sale from April 28th, before going on general sale the following day.

In 2020, the line-up drew household names such as illusionist Derren Brown, comedian and author Romesh Ranganathan and actor and mental health campaigner Ruby Wax who will return to Life Lessons for a second year in 2021.

Joining Ruby will be Oxford University’s Professor Sarah Gilbert and Dr Catherine Green, the scientists behind the development of the Oxford vaccine, who will share their insights on how the pandemic has changed science, people and the planet, to coincide with the publication of their book VAXXERS: The Inside Story of the Oxford Vaccine and the Race Against the Virus.

Other brilliant minds confirmed for Life Lessons 2021 include former Mayor of Sheffield Magid Magid, author and TV personality Dr Rangan Chatterjee, Psychologist Kimberley Wilson and TV presenter Claudia Winkleman who will share their ideas on how we can all learn to live better as we prepare to re-enter life in the fast-lane. On Saturday 17th July, Professor Brian Cox will take to the stage to reflect on the life lessons that scientific study of the universe has taught him about planet Earth.

Life Lessons will be one of the first festivals in London to go ahead as a physical event in 2021. Festival organisers have already taken all precautionary measures to keep visitors safe, including controlling visitor capacity & introducing timed sessions, which will help reduce traffic around the festival and allow for social distancing. Rigorous cleaning is scheduled to take place between sessions and hand-sanitisers will be available at visible points around the festival site. The organisers look forward to welcoming visitors to a festival that they say has been built to withstand the challenges of the pandemic world.

The new outdoor set up will see the main bulk of the action taking place on a purpose built stage, flanked by a spacious outdoor seating area. During sessions, visitors will take in the breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding landscaped grounds. There will also be a range of off-stage activities taking place over the course of the festival. Lexus will be hosting outdoor mindfulness sessions which will include origami workshops during the day, and 20 minute meditation sessions in the evening with Christoph Spiessens. Visitors will also have the opportunity to address imbalances in their lifestyle at Dr K’s CBD Lifestyle Clinic, where Dr K’s team will be on hand to guide visitors towards changes that could improve overall wellbeing and happiness.

Tickets for Life Lessons 2021 will be available for exclusive pre-sale from 28th April, and will go on general sale on 29th April. To register your interest in pre-sale tickets, head towww.lifelessonsfestival.com. Both standard and premium tickets are available, but do note that there will be a limited final release of tickets.
