57K BRIT WORKERS GET NEW LEAVE RIGHTS

Co-op introduces groundbreaking compassionate leave policy for its 57,000 employees, allowing up to 10 days (double the current amount) of paid leave at any time, regardless of relationship to the deceased.
· 56% of UK employees consider bereavement leave an important issue, but 48% took less than a week off after a loss, and 16% were not allowed to take any leave.
· Grief can significantly impact people at work, leading to reduced productivity, increased absenteeism, and physical and mental health issues.
