6Percent launches premium award-winning mid-strength wines in Ocado

6Percent, a premium wine brand at the forefront of the growing mid-strength category, is now making moderate drinking more accessible as its White Sauvignon Blanc 2024 and Red Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 arrive in Ocado this March.

Launching in time for Mid-Strength March – a month-long campaign which celebrates mid-strength drinks – the wines debut with a 2024 vintage, along with new elegant labels and caps. 6Percent has also been refining its recipes and winemaking techniques to create even more expressive, flavourful and award-winning mid-strength wines at just 6% ABV.

6Percent is co-founded by wine-lovers, Russell and Gabriella Lamb and Jason Sennitt, who all faced the same familiar dilemma when they entered parenthood – wanting to enjoy the ritual of a glass of wine during the week without it affecting precious mornings. After nearly three years perfecting the recipe since its first launch, 6Percent is excited to now bring their mid-strength wines with half the alcohol to Ocado customers. All while still delivering on taste, sophistication and occasion.

As more people look for ways to moderate their drinking, mid-strength wines are increasingly filling the gap between alcohol-free and full-strength options, offering flexibility for mid-week sipping, daytime drinking and longer social occasions.

Gabriella Lamb, co-founder of 6Percent, comments:

Mid-strength wine gives people more choice if they want to drink a little less, without missing out on the experience of enjoying a decent glass of wine. We know from our customer feedback that lots of shoppers are interested in mid-strength, but it can still be hard to find. We’re really excited that Ocado is now stocking our wines – making it easier than ever for people to enjoy the wine they love, but with a lot less alcohol!

Mid-strength drinks typically contain half the alcohol of their traditional equivalents, and 6Percent is one of the first to bring mid-strength wines to the market. Along with other mid-strength producers, 6Percent is responding to the evolving demand for moderate drinking options.

6Percent mid-strength wines arriving in Ocado include:

6Percent Red:
6Percent French Red is a vibrant, fruity blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from one of France’s leading wine regions. This perfectly-balanced dry red is smooth and light, bursting with red berry and black cherry, and complemented with a hint of spice. Velvety tannins and a subtle smoky finish that will leave a lingering taste.

6Percent White:
6Percent French White is an elegant and dry Sauvignon Blanc that delivers full flavour with a lighter touch. Best served chilled, this mid-strength wine is bursting with zesty lemon, fresh gooseberry and crisp apple. Refreshing acidity, complemented by aromatics and a subtle minerality that give a smooth finish that’s easy to enjoy, glass after glass.
