ANNINGTON SUPPORTS BORDON ARMED FORCES VETERANS BREAKFAST CLUB

The Bordon Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club has received a donation from Annington, the company responsible for refurbishing the former MOD properties at Woodland View in Bordon, Hampshire. Annington’s donation will allow the club to purchase materials to help to promote its services to veterans in the local area, including flags and banners.

The Bordon Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club is based in Café 1759 in Bordon, and forms part of a national network of clubs united by their mission to bring together Armed Forces personnel and veterans, providing a sense of community and belonging to those who may be missing the companionship that comes with military life.

The Bordon AFVBC has been hoping to recruit more veterans to join their friendly breakfast meetings, however they have struggled to do so due to limited funds. The donation from Annington will allow the club to promote themselves in the town and set up a flag during regular meetings as a visual signpost for those looking to join. Subject to the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, the club meets on the first Tuesday and the third Saturday of each month where the club celebrated their reopening with an alfresco breakfast

We are so pleased that our donation will help the club to expand and welcome more veterans and military personnel into the community.”

Graham Bryant, Project Manager for the community café, added: “We are so grateful for Annington’s support, which will help us reach out to even more veterans and help them to find a like-minded community. We hope to grow our small club over the coming months by helping fellow personnel to access the support that they need. Annington’s donation has been invaluable in increasing our visibility to the community.”
