If you are looking for the perfect destination for a staycation this summer, it is hard to beat Cornwall. Whether you are planning a romantic trip with your partner, a fun-filled family holiday or a getaway with your friends, you will find that Cornwall has something for everyone and it is a stunning part of the UK that really comes to life in the warmer months of the year.

Vacationing in your very own holiday home in a caravan park is one of the best ways to experience Cornwall as it allows you to connect with nature and enjoy the thrills of a camping trip with home comforts. You will also find that there is beauty all around you in Cornwall, which is why it is such a popular TV filming location. Here are a few TV shows and films to check out that were filmed in Cornwall and will give you a taste of what to expect.

1. Poldark, Netflix

Both the original (1975) and latest version (2015) of this historical drama take place in Cornwall telling the story of a soldier returning from the American War of Independence after three years to his home in Nampara. There are stunning shots of the rugged Cornish coast, which helps to ramp up the drama.

2. Doc Martin, ITV

Doc Martin is a much-loved comedy-drama on ITV that has been airing since 2004. Set in Cornwall and filmed on location in Port Issac, it is a great advert for the Cornish coast with its beautiful white-washed cottages and picturesque views out to sea.

3. World War Z

Youd be forgiven for not paying too much attention to the scenery in the end-of-the-world zombie thriller World War Z starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but a few scenes of this were shot in Cornwall at Falmouth docks and out to sea.

4. Bad Education Movie

The popular Jack Whitehall comedy series Bad Education was adapted into a film in 2015, which saw Whitehalls character Alfie Wickers, the worst teacher ever to grace the British education system, take his GCSE tutor group on a disastrous school trip. A lot of it was filmed in the beautiful fishing port of Mevagissey in Cornwall.

There is a good reason why Cornwall is such a popular filming spot and it is the perfect place for a summer vacation with so much to offer and so much natural beauty in the area.
