Bargain-loving Brits crave a meal that won’t break the bank

Brits are feeling the pinch as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite, with 42%[1] of us heading out for a meal less often because of rising prices.
Nearly seven in ten[2] (69%) are holding back on non-essential spending, and for many, that means cutting down on those cherished trips to the local. But while wallets might be getting lighter, the nation’s love for a good pub meal remains strong.
When we do dine out, it’s all about getting bang for our buck. In fact, 60% of us say ‘value for money’ is the top consideration when deciding where to eat, and when choosing what to order, 47%[3] are influenced by offers and deals.
With value-driven diners making up a significant portion of the market, it’s clear that “value” means more than just a low price; it’s about getting something that’s worth the cost, a good deal, and quality.
And what’s on the menu? The classics, of course! Fish and chips is still the nation’s favourite pub dish, with 28%[4] of Brits choosing it over anything else. Add in a roast, a steak, or a good old burger, and you’ve got a proper pub feast.
Luckily, Stonegate Group have cooked up the perfect solution. In response to belt-tightening Brits, they’ve launched an unbeatable £20 meal deal at participating venues that’s sure to tempt you back to your local. For just £20, you and a loved one can tuck into two main meals, two drinks, and either two starters or desserts – all without making a dent in your budget.
Hannah Little, Head of Marketing at Stonegate Group, said:
“We know people are keeping a closer eye on their spending right now, but that doesn’t mean they want to give up a good pub meal.
“Our new deal offers great value, with two meals, drinks, and more, so guests can still enjoy their local without worrying about the cost. It’s all about making sure everyone can experience a proper meal out, even with a tighter budget.”
