Brits reveal the ‘Love Notes’ they’d leave for their four-legged friends
If your dog could read, what would you tell them?
New research to mark the launch of Peamutt Squeezy found men would apologise and women would confess their love.
The survey of 2,001 dog owners found that nearly half of men (47%) would tell their dog “Sorry for leaving you home alone”, while one in three women (33%) would say “I love you more than most people.”
Forever thinking about man’s best friend; two-thirds of Brits (66%) said they’d write a note for their dog if they could read, and more than half admitted they leave festive messages on their dog’s behalf.
Overall, “Thanks for being my best friend” was the nation’s number one message, followed closely by “You’re my favourite.”
While women led the way in affection, with almost three quarters regularly saying “I love you” out loud to their pets.
For dog-dad’s, they would tell their pooch, “You’re the best part of my day” and “Please stop stealing the duvet” in equal measure.
Whether heartfelt, funny, or apologetic, one thing’s clear – Britain’s dogs would get more love letters than anyone else in the house.
The research also found that men tend to show love through gestures, while women express it in words, with men are more likely to make “food art” for example for their pet.
Sally Addenbrook, from Peamutt Butter, said: “Whether it’s a heartfelt ‘I love you’ or a cheeky ‘Sorry for the late walk’, Peamutt Squeezy lets owners bring those messages to life – literally – and ensure your dog always feels part of the family.
