Heart of Worcestershire College to host End of Year Art & Design Showcases
Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) has announced its End of Year Art & Design Showcase, taking place at two of its campuses this May. The events will celebrate the creativity and talent of students studying Art & Design across Level 2, Level 3 Year 1 & 2 and Foundation.
The showcases will be held on:
Tuesday 19th May, 17:00-20:00 at St Dunstan’s Building, Worcester campus
Wednesday 20th May, 17:00-20:00 at the Bromsgrove campus
Visitors will have the opportunity to view the collection of students’ work, featuring pieces developed through the academic year. The exhibition will highlight a range of work spanning fine art, painting, photography, fashion and textiles, ceramics and more.
The event is open to prospective students, families, residents, and anyone who wants to find out more about the Art & Design offering at HoW College.
Adam Neal, Curriculum Manager – The Arts, said: “These showcases are a celebration of the students’ hard work, individuality, and the diverse range of skills that they have developed over the course of their studies. Visitors can expect to see an exciting mix of ideas, materials, and approaches that reflect the unique voices of the students. We hope to see you at the showcase to celebrate their work, and also connect with the wider community to see first-hand the high standard of work produced here at HoW College.”
Charlotte Cooke, Level 3 Year 2 Art and Design student, added: “The end of year showcase is a positive event because it brings the students of the department together to collectively enjoy the artwork we have worked hard on for the past year. The show helps me creatively as it’s a different approach to sticking work into a sketchbook and showing it – instead I can find new ways to express and showcase my work. It also helps professionally by giving an idea of varied ways to present my art in the future for my portfolio or if I’d like to show work in a gallery.
It’s also a great opportunity for other people to see my work, and also hear from me to share what my art is about and to have conversations with people to see if my meanings and emotions behind it have been communicated.”
