Immersive Gamebox launches Football Arcade ahead of the 2026 World Cup as players battle for a $10,000 prize

As anticipation builds for the 2026 World Cup, tickets are officially on sale now for Football Arcade, a brand-new immersive gaming experience launching at Immersive Gamebox on 1st June.

Immersive Gamebox – the interactive group gaming experience that combines motion tracking, projected digital worlds and social gameplay – is giving fans and families a whole new way to experience the summer of football, with players across the globe competing for a $10,000 grand prize.

Football Arcade transforms players into the controller as groups jump, dodge, dive and move together through a series of football-inspired challenges inside interactive Gamebox rooms – no football skills or actual football required.

Launching across venues in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds, the limited-time experience has been created to capture the energy, chaos and competition of the World Cup – not by watching from the sidelines, but by stepping inside the action yourselves.

At the start of each session, players choose their nation, customise their avatar and go head-to-head across multiple rounds to climb the leaderboard and settle ultimate bragging rights. Players first compete head-to-head in a series of fast-paced football-inspired arcade games, including Headers, where players battle to score as many headed goals against each other, Goalie, where players throw themselves around to save colour-matched shots, and Dribbler, where groups navigate obstacle-filled football challenges together.

There are also more chaotic bonus rounds, including Human Foosball and Streaker Security, where players race to spot and stop pitch invaders before they reach the ball. After battling it out individually, teams then join forces for one final challenge – a frantic Keepy Uppy showdown where players must work together to keep multiple virtual footballs in play for as long as possible.

The competition culminates on 19th July, the day of the actual 2026 World Cup Final, when the group sitting top of the global leaderboard will win the $10,000 grand prize. Throughout the competition, players across the UK, US, Canada, Australia, France and Germany will compete against each other for leaderboard dominance, alongside additional spot prizes and weekly giveaways.

To celebrate the launch, Immersive Gamebox will also host a special free play day on 12th June, where anyone wearing a football shirt can play Football Arcade completely free of charge across participating UK and US venues.

The offer will be available on a walk-in only basis, with guests grouped together to maximise gameplay capacity. Spaces will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests unable to secure a slot on the day will receive exclusive return offers and discounts for future bookings.

Launching just in time for the 2026 World Cup frenzy, Football Arcade recreates the feeling of tournament football – the tension, celebrations, chaos and last-minute winners – in a format that anyone can enjoy, whether you’re football-mad or have never kicked a ball before.

Unlike traditional gaming or VR experiences, Immersive Gamebox is completely controller and goggle-free, allowing groups to play together naturally inside an immersive projected environment using full-body movement and touch-responsive walls.

Suitable for children, families, friendship groups, birthday parties and competitive mates alike, Football Arcade turns every session into its own mini World Cup – complete with national pride, celebrations and arguments over who bottled the final challenge.
