Peterborough-headquartered Buckles Law has acquired Miller Rosenfalck, the established London international boutique known for its cross-border work and particular expertise in the German and Scandinavian markets.
The combination brings together two firms with a strong international outlook and enhances Buckles’ London and cross-border capabilities. The lawyers joining Buckles as Partners are Edzard Clifton-Dey (employment) Kevin Harrison, John Kenneally and Chris Rodda (dispute resolution) Steen Rosenfalck (corporate commercial) and Isabel Sylvestre (Immigration).
Miller Rosenfalck has built a distinctive practice advising businesses from, or with interests in, Germany, Scandinavia, France, Italy and North America on establishing and operating in the UK. Its international character is reflected in a team that includes dual-qualified and multilingual lawyers able to work across different legal systems, languages and business cultures. Bringing together longstanding experience advising across complex UK and cross-border matters.
The acquisition strengthens Buckles’ commercial offering in employment, dispute resolution and corporate commercial work, while also introducing an immigration service line to assist both individuals and businesses.
Duncan Jackson, CEO of Buckles Law, said: “International work has always set Buckles apart from other regional firms and Miller Rosenfalck shares that outlook. Their lawyers bring deep knowledge of German and Danish business, alongside real strength in employment, disputes and corporate work.
“Importantly, we share a way of working. Both firms nurture their own talent and give people autonomy and flexibility, which sits comfortably alongside our values as one of fewer than 50 B Corp certified law firms in the UK.
“Bringing lawyers of this calibre into our expanded London office will accelerate growth. Together, we have a stronger foothold in the capital and a broader service for international clients.”
Miller Rosenfalck was founded in 2002 by Steen Rosenfalck, dual-qualified as a Danish advokat and an English solicitor, who has advised Danish businesses on their UK interests for more than two decades.
The firm advises businesses from, or with interests in, Germany, Scandinavia, France, Italy and North America on setting up and operating in the UK. Many of its lawyers are dual-qualified or speak two or more languages, allowing them to work across legal systems and borders.
New Partner with Buckles, Steen Rosenfalck commented: “Our clients come to us because we understand their legal system and their culture and very often we speak their language too. Joining Buckles gives them access to a far wider range of expertise without losing any of that.
“Buckles’ international outlook and its approach to people made it the natural home for our team. We can continue to look after our existing clients and grow that work with our new colleagues.”
The acquisition builds on Buckles’ long-standing international work, which already includes UK based French and Spanish law teams and resident consultants in Paris and Milan. It also reflects where overseas investment is heading, with ONS figures showing that while total German investment in the UK was broadly unchanged between 2015 and 2024 at around £50bn, the amount held in London more than doubled to £14.4bn.
