Ahead of International Casinos Day on 15 May, Gambling.com’s research offers a timely snapshot of how the world engages with casino gaming online – and the results show that what players search for depends heavily on where they live. From blackjack’s stranglehold on the American market to baccarat’s enduring pull across Asia, the global casino landscape is far less uniform than the industry often assumes.

Gambling.com has analysed global search data to reveal which casino games players are searching for most in 40 countries worldwide.

Using Ahrefs keyword data to compare monthly search volumes for seven major casino game categories – slots, roulette, blackjack, baccarat, poker, keno, and live casino – the study uncovers striking regional differences in player interest that challenge assumptions about universal gambling preferences.

Poker is the world’s most universally searched casino game, topping the charts in 15 countries including Brazil (55,000 monthly searches), India (48,000), Mexico (30,000), Spain (26,000), and Italy (23,000). Its dominance spans Latin America, South and Southeast Asia, and much of Western Europe.

Keno is the surprise performer, ranking first in 12 countries. France leads with a staggering 984,000 monthly searches – the highest single-country volume for any game in the study – driven largely by the FDJ’s national Keno lottery. Poland (122,000), Vietnam (89,000), Finland (53,000), and Australia (47,000) also show outsized keno interest, often linked to state-run lottery products carrying the keno brand.

Blackjack remains America’s game. The United States searches for blackjack 147,000 times per month – more than double any other game in the country and the second-highest single-country volume in the entire dataset. Blackjack also leads in Turkey, Ireland, and New Zealand.

Baccarat dominates Asia’s casino corridors. The Philippines (15,000), Singapore (3,700), South Korea (3,500), and the UAE (1,900) all search for baccarat more than any other casino game, reflecting its cultural significance in high-roller and VIP gaming markets.

Slots hold the UK crown. With 37,000 monthly searches, slots are the most searched casino game in Britain – outpacing poker (23,000) and blackjack (22,000). Slots also lead in Germany (37,000), Ukraine (14,000), and South Africa (4,200).

Roulette is synonymous with continental Europe’s casino tradition, leading searches in Switzerland (2,600) and Austria (2,300), while Greece stands out as the only country where ‘live casino’ is the top search term (5,700).
