BACK MARKET’S LAST SHOT GALLERY EXPOSES THE HIDDEN COST OF FAST TECH
This October, Back Market, the leading global marketplace for premium refurbished electronics, unveils The Last Shot Gallery – an immersive exhibition in Fitzrovia, London.
The gallery exposes the environmental cost of fast-tech consumption and planned obsolescence, using hyper-real digital art, iPhone-shot photography, and data-driven storytelling to reimagine how some of the world’s most iconic landscapes could deteriorate under current tech habits – while offering a hopeful, repairable path forward.
THE LAST SHOT GALLERY
Opening on Friday 17 October 2025, the free exhibition combines artistry, academic insight, and interactive storytelling to spark urgent yet hopeful reflection on tech overconsumption.
Visitors will journey through around 10 global landmarks – from Brazil’s Iguazu Falls to the Seine River in Paris, each transformed to show the ecological toll of rapid tech upgrades.
The exhibition showcases work from a new generation of up-and-coming digital artists, each offering a unique interpretation of how fast-tech consumption could reshape our world.
From surreal, dreamlike landscapes to stark, hyper-real visions, their contributions explore both the fragility and resilience of iconic global landmarks. Adding scientific depth, Professor Mark Maslin, Earth System Science expert at UCL, provides data-driven forecasts that ground each artwork in real ecological and climate realities.
