J. Sheekey announces an exclusive new terrace partnership with Vivienne Westwood, one of Britain’s most influential and recognisable design houses, launching today, Wednesday 27th May 2026 in the heart of London’s West End. Connecting fashion and hospitality, the takeover transforms one of the capital’s most storied restaurant terraces into the season’s most exciting summer destination.

As part of J Sheekey’s 130th anniversary celebrations, the collaboration brings together two iconic British names with longstanding connections to culture, creativity and London life.

For more than a century, J. Sheekey has occupied a prestigious place within London’s theatreland, a restaurant woven into the rhythm of the West End, where actors, artists, audiences and creatives have gathered since 1896. Known for its seafood, hospitality, and portrait-lined walls celebrating cultural figures, J. Sheekey has remained a constant presence within the capital’s cultural landscape for generations. Guided by the belief that luxury should have wit and charm, J. Sheekey balances craftsmanship with a distinct sense of playfulness.

Set against that backdrop, the terrace has been reimagined through the world of Vivienne Westwood. It is a celebration of the heritage, craftsmanship, and individuality that define both brands, alongside the shared experience of connecting over food, intellectual conversation and culture.

At the centre of the collaboration is Vivienne Westwood’s seminal ‘Evolution of Man’ archive print, first shown in the Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 1996/97 MAN collection. For Sheekey’s, the print, spanning centuries of character, style, and identity, reflects the ever-changing cast of London itself, and the generations of actors, artists, rebels, and cultural figures who have passed through its doors over the last 130 years.

Evolution is embedded in the design language and ethos of the Vivienne Westwood house, subversive tension between heritage and rebellion, past and future. For J. Sheekey, evolution is found in the rhythm of the West End itself, a restaurant shaped by theatreland’s energy, Soho’s history, and the slightly unruly spirit that has always defined London at its most alive. The ‘Evolution of Man’ print captures that spirit perfectly, and appears throughout the terrace across the window vinyl, menus, linens, and tableware, alongside a series of bespoke details including illustrated coasters, engraved glassware and custom ceramics inspired by the artwork.

“We are honoured to celebrate the anniversary of J. Sheekey – a place people meet, connect and spend wonderful hours together. We celebrate a place of tradition and quality, where people can understand the world through theatre and the arts. To reflect culture moving from the past, through the present and into the future, we chose this archive design to dress the surroundings of J. Sheekey.”
~ Alexander Krenn, Senior Designer, Vivienne Westwood

“Very few places have become woven into the cultural fabric of London in the way J. Sheekey has over the last 130 years. The restaurant has always reflected the quintessence of the West End – creative, theatrical, and full of character. We are honoured to partner with Vivienne Westwood in our milestone year: another British institution defined by individuality, craftsmanship, and an enduring influence on culture. Together, the collaboration celebrates both legacy and evolution – honouring the history of J. Sheekey.”

As part of the terrace takeover, guests can enjoy a limited-edition food and drinks menu created in partnership with Guinness and Tanqueray No. TEN, bringing together a mix of classic serves and seasonal cocktails for the summer season. This includes a special Guinness cocktail, the Black Velvet, made with Guinness and Champagne, alongside a pairing of six oysters, a nod to long standing favourites associated with London dining culture.
