Back to Work data reveals 42% of London workers no longer doing a tea round!

A new survey of 1,000 office workers reveals how the nation is feeling about getting back to work. With many returning after months in isolation, anxieties are expected to be high.

The research carried out by Moneypenny, the outsourced communications provider, showed that 49% of the office workers in London surveyed said they have already returned to the office, with a further 6% saying they’ve not been given a date to return and 39% will be returning in the next 1-4 months.

The majority of those that stated they are already back in the office were situated in the North East and the East Midlands, with East England and Scotland having the highest percentages of those with no return date as of yet.

Furthermore, the findings showed 55% of London workers admitted being uncomfortable about returning to work due to COVID concerns, whilst 33% have no concerns at all!

With a return to the office, commuting also has to be taken into consideration, with public transport being of higher risk than other forms of transport.

The data shows that 54% of workers in London will be choosing to take their own cars to work to avoid contamination.

42% of London office workers said they had no problems with wearing a face mask. However, 34% said they would find it too much to do a whole day of work wearing a mask.

17% of people said they wouldn’t be happy if it became a long term policy and 8% said they do not like being told what to wear, and feel as though it inhibits their human rights.

The national average of those that said mask wearing was voluntary and that they were not going to wear one was 26%.

43% of workers in London trust all of their colleagues, whilst 42% only trust specific colleagues, and 12% would report them to management if they don’t follow social distancing rules and other COVID measures!

Even the tea rounds have been called into question. Overall 58% said they will make teas and coffees for their colleagues, however, 28% said it would only be for colleagues that are close to them and they trust them.

17% questioned said their management will not allow them to make tea or coffee for their colleagues, but 25% strictly stated they will not do tea rounds at all.
