BARRIERS TO MOVING BROKEN DOWN BY CHESHIRE HOMEBUILDER FOLLOWING NEW SURVEY

Leading homebuilder David Wilson Homes is helping Cheshire residents overcome their barriers to moving properties which have been revealed in a recent survey.

Increasing house prices, the impacts of COVID-19 and the lack of availability are just a few of many thoughts that come alongside moving home.

The survey conducted by the five star developers* has revealed that the biggest concerns amongst residents in the county are that house prices are increasing (29%) and the availability of properties on the market (21%).

With this in mind, David Wilson Homes is giving residents in the county a helping hand to conquer their moving fears.

Prices of Houses are Increasing

The second half of 2021 saw the housing market continue to boom, with the average house price being £268,349 as reported in October’s UK House Price Index; an annual increase of 10.2%.

Philippa Stewart, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes North West, said: “Residents’ concerns are certainly warranted, but we have a range of schemes and offers available across our developments to help people progress on the property ladder.”

The government-backed Help to Buy scheme is available on selected properties and enables first time buyers to secure a new home with a 5% deposit, which makes the first move more affordable.

Availability of Properties on the Market

Philippa continued: “Due to the high demand for new homes in the past couple of years, it’s no surprise to hear that people are finding there’s a lack of availability on the market.

“For those with a clear idea of their next step on the property ladder, or for anyone considering a move and looking for more information, we’d encourage them to book an appointment with one of our Sales Advisers to discuss availability and the variety of properties available.”

Many people have brought a house move forward following new-found needs as a result of the pandemic but David Wilson Homes’ Sales Advisers can advise prospective buyers on the wide range of properties available, in addition to the expected move-in date.

Never before has buying off-plan been so popular as homebuyers are able to reserve their new build home, mark the move-in date on their calendars and rest assured that they can move in as soon as their property is complete.

David Wilson Homes is currently building properties in Cheshire at Galloway Grange in Macclesfield, Kingsbourne in Nantwich, Orchard Meadows in Appleton Cross, Scholar’s Place in Alsager, Stanneylands in Wilmslow and Winnington Village in Northwich. Kings Park in Macclesfield is coming soon.
