Below Deck Med-inspired Malta boat trip searches soar by 41% following premiere of seventh season, says SamBoat

In recent years, film and TV have become cultural trendsetters, inspiring people to seek out similar experiences for themselves. And it seems the hotly anticipated seventh series of reality TV show Below Deck Mediterranean is the latest cultural phenomenon to spark Brits’ interest. Following the premiere of the latest series, set in Malta on superyacht Home, SamBoat, the global platform for boat rental, has reported a spike in interest, with a 41% increase in Below Deck Med-inspired Maltese boat charters in the week since. Bookings of Malta trips are up by a whopping 250% compared to the same time last year, the company says.

The reality television series chronicles the lives of the crew members who work and reside aboard a 150-foot-plus superyacht during a charter season as they welcome the super wealthy on board. Over the course of the series, fans have been fascinated by the lives of the ‘yachties’ as they attempt to meet the demanding, outrageous and often expensive needs of their guests.

While the popular reality show often features wealthy travellers enjoying the hospitality yachting has to offer, SamBoat is on a mission to bring the world of boating to a far wider audience – even those with no sailing experience. For curious travellers and seasoned sailors looking to enjoy the Below Deck Experience in Malta for themselves, SamBoat has curated a collection of Maltese boats and yachts available to book for those looking to feel the Below Deck Effect over the summer boating season: samboat.com/below-deck-effect
