Bethany England spills the BEANZ ahead of Women’s Football World Cup

On the run up to the start of the much-anticipated 2023 Women’s World Cup, Heinz has teamed up with Lioness striker, Bethany England, in a winning combo to celebrate the start of the tournament.

Coming together to share Bethany’s new post-match pick-me-up – Heinz’s delicious Beanz Burgerz – the partnership follows revelations during the Euros last year, that the Lionesses favourite pre-match dish was none other than beans on toast, even becoming somewhat of a ritual for the team.[1]

And this July, England’s cup-winning women are not taking any chances, with Bethany and Heinz working together to honour the tradition, as seen on Heinz’s social media pages and through new OOH visuals from today.

Of the partnership, Bethany England said: “It’s always been so important for me and the squad to fuel up before a big game, and whether it’s before training, or pre-match, it’s key for us to eat a balanced meal that provides us with enough energy that we need to play. For me, it has to be beans, and of course, when it comes to beans, it also always has to be Heinz!

“And with the discovery that Heinz also have a variety of other beans-based products – including Beanz Burgers, Beanz Nuggetz and Beanz Bowls – I can already tell we’re going to have some new and delicious pre and post-match favourites”.

Sophie Higgins, Head of Growth Platform, New Ventures at Heinz said: “When we heard how much Bethany and the whole team loved our beans, we jumped at the chance to help make sure she’s powered by Heinz during the Women’s World Cup.

“We have a range of bean-based products outside of the can, each providing unbeanlievable plant-based energy, perfect for the high intensity training the England squad goes through. We can’t wait to see the power of the humble bean driving everyone through the championship!”

Want to score the Lionesses winning pre-match meal too? Heinz Beanz Burgerz are available now at Asda, Morrison’s, Iceland and Ocado for £2.50. Prices at the sole discretion of the retailer.
