Brits take 10 billion holiday snaps this summer
As September arrives, the unofficial end to summer is here. Now, as children flock back to school and our holidays run out, we can’t help but reminisce on the summer just past. This year, Brits were able to once again enjoy seeing loved ones with no limits on social contact, meeting indoors in a group, attending live music events and of course, travelling abroad.
Now, with data by PastBook estimating that Brits have captured an additional 10 billion holiday snaps on their smartphones this year, many of us will have thousands of holiday snaps to reflect and reminisce on. Yet with data by PastBook revealing that 52% of the nation don’t own any physical copies of their favourite photos, our physical photographic record of these moments are being left on our devices.
Encouraging the nation to share and preserve the moments that defined a summer like no other, PastBook allows Brits to create a photo book of their summer experiences, highlights, and most significant memories.
Daniel Scheijen, CMO of PastBook, discusses the value of preserving physical photos in the digital age:
“Over the last year, where we have faced social distancing, self-isolation and lockdown, our social media accounts have been flooded with images of banana bread, masks and socially distanced walks. Yet with Brits now heading on staycations and holidays abroad, PastBook is encouraging the nation to capture and share their experiences of this monumental summer.
With the nation capturing their summer holiday highlights on their smartphones, we will all have a digital photo album of our most monumental summer, one which we can look back on in years to come. At PastBook, we create well-curated, stylistic logs of these social accounts and turn them into image-based memoirs – preserved forever. As such, we can now all rediscover the nostalgia that a physical photo can bring.”
