CBRE’s Charles Lloyd Joins Beauchamp Estates As New Head of Sales
Leading Ultra-Prime estate agent Beauchamp Estates has appointed highly-respected Mayfair and Super-Prime specialist Charles Lloyd as Head of Sales (Mayfair), based at the agency’s Mayfair office on Curzon Street.
In addition to leading the Mayfair office team and sales Charles Lloyd will also be heading up Ultra-Prime sales across Mayfair, St James’s, Kensington & Chelsea and neighbouring Prime Central London enclaves, and advising Beauchamp Estates’ global network of Ultra-High-Net-Worth clients on sales and acquisitions.
Charles Lloyd’s new role marks a welcome return to Beauchamp Estates, for whom he worked as a Senior Negotiator across the high-value London homes market between 1992 and 2006.
He rejoins the firm from CBRE, where in 2020 he was tasked with co-founding their Private Office, primarily helping Ultra-High-Net-Worth private clients in their sale and acquisition of Super-Prime homes across Prime Central London and the Home Counties. He also oversaw discreet off-market trophy home sales on behalf of clients.
Charles has now been involved in residential property for 35 years, over which he has forged a stellar career as one of the Capital’s best-known agents, earning himself the epithet “Mr Mayfair” and being namechecked in wealth management bible Spear’s 500. A key player in some of the most high-profile Super-Prime transactions in Prime Central London, he has also held the record for the most expensive house ever sold in Mayfair, in May 2015, for £90m, at £4,700 per sq. ft.
Charles’ passion for property began early, when he left school in the mid-1980s to start an apprenticeship with an estate agency dealing with both town and country properties. He moved to London in 1991, where he worked for independent agent John Wilcox & Co covering Holland Park, Notting Hill and Kensington, and moved to Savills in 2006, opening their Mayfair branch in 2010 and their Marylebone office in 2013.
Bringing with him an inimitable little black book of contacts, Charles Lloyd will be working closely with Gary Hersham, Founding Director of Beauchamp Estates, and Jeremy Gee, Managing Director, alongside a hand-picked team which includes Paul Finch, Yahya Swallem, Vlad Viaryshka and Sarah Heracleous.
Charles Lloyd Head of Sales (Mayfair) at Beauchamp Estates says: “Having worked in the corporate world for many years, I was keen to get back to the cut and thrust of buying and selling at an independent Ultra Prime agency, so returning to Beauchamp Estates was an obvious choice. I have watched and admired the way the firm has expanded since I left in 2006 from being a boutique London agency into a multi-national global leader in Ultra-Prime property. I bring to the role not just a forensic knowledge of Mayfair and the Prime Central London property market, but of what makes each neighbourhood so special. Having carried out two of my own back-to-brick restorations of homes in the Capital, I also have a deep understanding of what clients should consider if they are planning their own renovations, and also how developers approach projects.”
Gary Hersham, Founding Director of Beauchamp Estates says: “We are delighted to welcome Charles Lloyd back to the Beauchamp Estates fold, this time as head of sales for our Mayfair office, handling properties and deals in Mayfair and neighbouring Prime London addresses. Charles is one of London’s best-known and most successful agents, who has held the record for the most expensive house ever sold in Mayfair. He brings with him a profound knowledge of the Ultra-Prime residential market and a deep understanding of how to advise Ultra-High-Net-Worth clients.”
Founded in 1979 Beauchamp Estates has grown to become a multi-national firm and a global leader in Ultra-Prime property. Alongside offices in Mayfair and St John’s Wood, in Prime Central London, the agency has offices in a range of affluent destinations including Cannes, St Tropez, Mougins and St Jean Cap Ferrat on the French Riviera, as well as Mykonos, Tel Aviv and an associate office in New York.
