‘CONE’ IS WHERE THE HEART IS: VACCINATION VOLUNTEERS THANKED BY TRUMPINGTON HOMEBUILDERS
Barratt and David Wilson Homes recently provided ice creams for a group of vaccination centre volunteers and staff members at a celebratory event in Cambridgeshire.
The special thank you for the efforts of those at the Cam Medical Primary Care Network (Lensfield Medical Practice, Trumpington St Medical Practice and Newnham Walk Surgery) came in the form of ice creams as the homebuilders arranged for local supplier, Jack’s Gelato, to attend an event to provide tasty treats for the 40 people in attendance.
Organised for the volunteers, the event took place at the Clay Farm Centre, close to Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Trumpington Meadows development, where the vaccination rollout was implemented for the local community.
Linda Kelly, Clay Farm Vaccination Service’s Project Manager, said “Our volunteers have been superstars, we absolutely needed to say a very big thank you. We commenced vaccinating January in the snow and I can’t thank them enough for their dedication and support; from managing car parking in all weathers, supporting patients through the centre, vaccinating patients and recording entries on our computer system.
“What a fantastic achievement, true Cambridge spirit as many came together to make huge difference to our patients. We offer our thanks to the wonderful Clay Farm community supporting us through the programme and making us feel welcome and, of course, to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for building the community and for bringing us ice cream!”
Essential workers and volunteers have done a tremendous job in keeping people safe during the COVID-19 crisis and continued to support their local communities as the vaccinations were administered.
Since being used as a vaccination centre, 20,000 vaccines have been administered by those at the Clay Farm Centre.
Annette Hurst, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Eastern Counties, said: “The efforts of all key workers during the pandemic have been admirable and it was our pleasure to support those at the Clay Farm Centre as part of their celebratory event.
Will Phair, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “We were delighted to arrange for Jack’s Gelato to be part of the recent event and we’d like to thank all volunteers and staff members at the vaccination centre for helping to keep our communities safe.”
