Cube Homes has appointed a new Clerk of Works to further strengthen its team based in Manchester.
Craig Austin, from Liverpool, will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality build standards are delivered across all developments.
He has over 19 years’ experience working in the property and construction industry. Prior to joining Cube, he was Senior Clerk of Works for development at the Sovini Group in Merseyside where he specialised in social housing and worked on the regeneration of Bootle.
He also has extensive construction expertise having worked as a site manager for Cassel & Fletcher Construction, Forth Homes, Keepmoat Homes and David Wilson Homes.
Craig is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Building, the Institute of Clerk of Works and the Charted Association of Engineers. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from Liverpool John Moores University.
Craig is the latest recruit for the company which recently appointed Nick Emery as Assistant Project Manager and Jamie Chitticks as Apprentice Development Project Manager with the developer. Cube is preparing for a busy year with the recent launch of its Hawthorn Grange development of luxury homes in Lymm in Cheshire, and new sites coming on stream in the Autumn.
Cube Managing Director Christopher Heath said: “Craig brings a broad range of experience in delivering quality projects to Cube and he will prove very valuable to the team as we start the build programme on our new sites.
“His appointment is part of our commitment to building the highest standard of homes possible, ensuring our properties really stand out from our competitors and that we continually exceed our buyers’ expectations.”
Craig, who started his career as a bricklayer at the age of 16, said: “I am excited to be working with Cube, they have a fantastic reputation and I’m looking forward to getting involved in all different aspects of the business, which isn’t always possible in large corporations.
“Coming from a trades background, I am passionate about the importance of Quality and raising standards and know the common pitfalls and quality issues that can arise on site which means I can help to mitigate these risks and ensure the construction teams can achieve the highest standards at all times across our developments.”
Cube, which is part of the Great Places Group, was founded in 2007 and last year and has developments across the North West, along with a growing rental portfolio including The Curve in Levenshulme in Manchester. As the private sector arm of the Great Places Housing Group, which provides affordable social housing across the region, all profits generated by Cube Homes are reinvested to help projects across Great Places’ communities.
