DANDARA SPREADS CHRISTMAS CHEER WITH DONATION TO QUEEN ALEXANDRA HOSPITAL’S CHRISTMAS APPEAL

Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham has received a £500 donation towards its Christmas Appeal from local housebuilder Dandara, who has a collection of new homes at its Novo development nearby in Drayton, Portsmouth.

The donation will enable one hundred patients to receive a present on Christmas day. Now in its second year, the Christmas Appeal will continue to spread joy and bring a smile to many faces. As part of the festivities, the hospital is also hosting a Christmas raffle for patients, staff, and families, where there are plenty of fantastic prizes to be won.

Michelle Bowdidge, Fundraising and Supporter Care Manager at Portsmouth Hospitals Charity, said: “A big thank you to Dandara for donating towards the Queen Alexandra Christmas Appeal. Last year we were able to provide presents for all patients through this appeal. A patient called Janet was gifted a present on Christmas Day and said, ‘The smallest gestures are often the biggest and certainly the most memorable.’ We want patients spending Christmas Day in Hospital to feel like Janet did, but we cannot do it without the kind generosity from the local community.”

Nicki Dennis, Head of Sales at Dandara Southern, commented: “Being able to play just a small part in Queen Alexandra’s Christmas Appeal is very special to us. We hope that the presents can bring some joy to patients who are in hospital over Christmas.”

Dandara is currently selling its new homes at Novo in Drayton, just 2 miles away from Queen Alexandra Hospital, where a collection of 3- and 4-bedroom homes are available. Prices start from £360,000 for a three-bedroom home.
