The festive season is in full swing and Christmas day celebrations are just around the corner, but if you’re planning on a quieter Christmas or New Year then why not venture to the beautiful West Sussex countryside and book one of Tinwood Estates’ seriously cosy lodges for some secluded R&R.

Pare down and luxuriate in one of three sumptuous lodges this festive season and enjoy their sleek modern design and sensational views over the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines towards the setting sun. Just over an hour from London, next door to the world famous Goodwood Estate, there is no shortage of things to do during your stay; a vineyard tour and tasting of their delicious sparkling wines is the best way to kick-start your staycation. Tinwood Estate is also the perfect location to explore the cathedral city of Chichester with a warming mulled wine in hand, or enjoy wintery trail walks and soak up the breathtaking views of the South Downs, ending up at one of the many brilliant local pubs (the Anglesey Arms is just next door) for a delicious lunch before returning to your lodge. And the best part – they’re a dog friendly Estate!

The interiors of the three luxury stand alone lodges blend effortlessly into their surroundings. Headboards stylishly made from bottle corks, stools made from barrels and subtle hints of wine related memorabilia adorn the surfaces. All feature an extra large king size bed facing towards the floor to ceiling concertina doors, which open fully onto an expansive deck, the perfect place to enjoy a hot chocolate all wrapped up on a crisp winter morning. Upon arrival a bespoke designed wine crate is delivered to the room with tea, coffee, fresh milk and most importantly, homemade nibbles to enjoy alongside the wine, on the deck. It gets better; a hearty continental breakfast is delivered by hamper to the door to be enjoyed on the private terrace or inside, and includes freshly baked croissants and rolls, a selection of spreads, yoghurt, fruit juice, boiled eggs and cheese.

Behind the lodges amongst the trees is a barrel sauna for guest use, and a viewing platform perfect for sundowners overlooking the vines, and the obligatory Instagram selfie! The Tinwood tasting room and deck is only a few yards away, where guests can enjoy the daily wine tastings and tours of the vineyard.
