Declan Doyle: I am dating Rylan, we really get on.
Declan Doyle, the ex-boyfriend of Geordie Shore star Nathan Henry, has confirmed he is dating Rylan Clark after the two were seen kissing.
Speaking to GB News, the 32-year-old told presenter Mark Dolan: “We’re just dating, it’s been a few dates – we really get on.”
Declan added that the pair met “at an event a while ago,” before joking he was the more famous one out of the two. He added: “It’s just weird having to talk about it, it’s just been a few dates, it’s really early on, we are enjoying each other’s company, but it is going well.”
After Mark explained he met Rylan recently at an award ceremony where GB News’ Eamon Holmes won Best News Presenter, he claimed the former X-factor contestant never looked happier prompting Nathan to smile and say they were both “very happy”.
The newly blossomed relationship is said to have begun in April after the pair were spotted dining at Roka in Canary Wharf. They were later seen flirting outside a restaurant in Marylebone with Ryan, 33, holding a glass of red wine during a cigarette break.
The news comes after the TV presenter was forced to take time off work, including his presenting gigs, after splitting from his husband, Dan Neal, of six years in June last year.
It is believed the couple split over differences regarding having children and Dan’s TV career ambitions. Despite this, Rylan has publicly blamed himself for the breakdown of the marriage. Rylan was a step-father to Dan’s son, Cameron, from a previous relationship but had been candid about wanting children of his own.
The two first met in 2013 after Rylan had won Celebrity Big Brother and Dan had appeared on series 14 of the same show. The following year, in 2014, the pair announced their engagement before marrying in November 2015.
Rylan and Dan became the first same-sex gay couple to present ITV’s This Morning, but Rylan later revealed that they weren’t too keen on working alongside one another.
Whereas it is rumoured that Rylan first met Declan over a decade ago at the X-Factor auditions. Declan was chancing his luck as a solo act having previously entered the talent show in a mixed-gender band known as NVS. He supported Little Mix and JLS while on tour as a member of the same band.
