DIA DE MUERTOS CELEBRATIONS A HIT WITH GEN Z
Day of the Dead (Dia De Muertos) celebrations are on the rise with 18-24 year olds, according to new national research.
Data shows that nearly a third (28%) of 18-24 year olds now celebrate the traditional Mexican festival, which originated in the Azetc era several thousand years ago and marks the passage of life.
This year, leading pub company and brewer Greene King is partnering up with Super Premium Tequila, Patrón, for Día de Muertos.
As well as hosting celebrations in pub to allow people to come together in remembrance of their ancestors, Greene King is launching a launching a luxury giveaway in collaboration with the renown drinks brand.
Running in over 20 venues, guests can win a range of prizes, including a £3,000 Virgin Atlantic gift card for that trip of a lifetime to Mexico, a bottle of Patrón Tequila and a home bartender kit, plus a standalone bottle of Patrón Tequila.
The home bartender kit can be used to create a range of Patrón inspired serves, including a Patrón Paloma with Patrón reposado and Fever Tree Pink Grapefruit Soda.
To enter, customers need to visit between the 27th of October and 2nd of November and take a picture of one of the new, Day of the Dead themed cocktails, upload it to Facebook or Instagram, and tag the relevant pub’s social channel.
Traditionally drunk around the Day of the Dead, Tequila features prominently the new cocktail creations running in participating venues, including the Patrón Marigold Mule, Blood Orange Patrón, and the Patrón Paloma.
