Everything you need to know about Violeta’s debut album Autovia

Violeta Vicci’s debut album Autovia offers listeners an ambient contemporary classical sound, she is a life-long musician who is of Spanish/Swiss descent residing in London and is fluent in seven languages. Violeta first picked up a violin at the age of four and has since graced many major international venues and influential orchestras.

Her work draws from a range of influences, namely, of course, classical music, which drives the hauntingly beautiful and stirring violin which soars through each track on Autovia. Violeta’s sound is also influenced by ambient and electronic music which is evident in her smouldering, broody soundscapes in which her spectral violin, viola and vocals exist.

Violeta’s affinity with ambient, electronic and alternative music is evident from the stunning roster of talent with whom she has collaborated, namely with Thom Yorke of Radiohead on his solo project Anima, indie darlings Elbow, ambient royalty Jonsi of Sigur Rós and ‘Africa’s premier diva’ Angelique Kidjo.

She recently played the BBC proms and was featured on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour as well as Jools Holland, Graham Norton and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Violeta’s debut album Autovia was produced by legendary musician and producer Martin Glover, also known as Youth, who picked her up on account of her excellent improvisational skills on the violin. Glover is a founding member of English rock group Killing Joke and performs with Paul McCartney in the duo The Fireman. He is also known for producing for iconic acts such as The Verve, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Dido, Erasure and Marilyn Manson.
