Barratt Southern Counties, who is behind the popular ‘Built for Life’ Eldebury Place development in Chertsey, Surrey, released its first show apartment earlier this month. Following the successful off-plan release of the apartments over the summer, it’s come as no surprise that the apartments are even more in demand than before, now that buyers can view the new homes in person.

The new apartments at Eldebury Place start from just £269,995 for a one-bedroom home – significantly less than the Chertsey average apartment cost of £309,567.[1] The new homes boast open-plan living, a private terrace or balcony, and spacious bedrooms. Buyers will also benefit from clever storage solutions, private parking spaces and 999-year leases.

Designed by The Real Image, the two-bedroom show apartment demonstrates the lifestyle available for young professionals at Eldebury Place. The open-plan living area incorporates plush seating arrangements, cosy throws and accessories, and statement pieces including lighting and accessories. Throughout the apartment, there is greenery in the form of tabletop succulents alongside larger potted plants, helping to bring the outdoors in.

Lisa Daniels at The Real Image, comments: “We have kept a neutral base throughout and instead opted for accents, using hints of gold and monochrome alongside bold artwork, statement lighting and a blend of geometric shapes and patterns. The inclusion of plants throughout the home makes the space feel brighter, creating a calmer environment and appealing to millennials who we know are fond of an Instagrammable houseplant or two.”

The bedrooms have been designed to reflect the modern tastes of typical young buyers, following a similar colour scheme to the main living area. “We have maintained a sophisticated feel within the principal bedroom, accessorizing with textured cushions and warm throws,” adds Lisa. “The second bedroom meanwhile offers a multi-functional space, providing a hotel chic guest space alongside a practical desk for those working from home.”

Kimberley Benson, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt Southern Counties, comments: “It is no surprise that we have seen strong demand from buyers who are keen to view our show apartment since its launch earlier this month, given the high levels of interest we saw from buyers purchasing off-plan over the summer. Hidden in a nook within Chertsey surrounded by the countryside but within easy access of the capital, Eldebury Place truly has it all for first time buyers and investors alike.

“What’s more, the apartments are available through a number of affordable homebuying options – from Help to Buy exclusively to first time buyers, to the new Deposit Unlock scheme, both of which require a low five per cent deposit. We have a limited number of one and two-bedroom apartments available, so anyone who is keen to snap up an apartment should move now and book an appointment to view.”

The first buyers at Eldebury Place moved into their new homes in the spring, and the development has already been commended with a ‘Built for Life’ award, recognising the development’s quality design and build. Eldebury Place is well equipped for the modern buyer, as each home offers access to high-speed fibre optic broadband, ideal for working from home, while outdoors there is a wealth of green communal space for residents to enjoy.

One of the oldest market towns in England, Chertsey is well known for its excellent range of leisure opportunities, including shops, restaurants and cafes and a historic museum. An array of green walking routes, including the famous Thames Path leading to the Thames Barrier in central London, are easily accessible from Eldebury Place.

The development is a short walk from Chertsey Rail Station, from which London Waterloo and Weybridge can be reached in around 48 and 28 minutes respectively. There are also several local bus routes connecting residents to Woking, Addlestone and Kingston-upon-Thames. For journeys by car, key roads including the M3, M25 and A320 are nearby, providing access to destinations including Woking, Staines-upon-Thames and Heathrow Airport.

Barratt Southern Counties currently has a range of one and two-bedroom apartments available at Eldebury Place. Prices start from £269,995 for a one-bedroom ground floor apartment with a private terrace and parking space. All apartments are available with a five per cent deposit for buyers who utilise the housebuilder’s Deposit Unlock scheme, or for first time buyers through Help to Buy.
