The UK braces for another heatwave with temperatures set to head for 37C, making it perfect weather to enjoy a nice cold ice cream.

A new study set out to uncover one key question: what ice cream flavours are Brits really craving this summer?

The experts at The Ice Maker Hub have analysed Google search data for more than 100 ice cream flavours across each UK city.

Researchers looked at over 31 well-known brands and 100 different flavours, ranging from classic crowd-pleasers like vanilla and chocolate to quirky picks like bacon and earl grey.

The UK’s top 20 ice cream flavours:

To measure consumer interest, the team analysed Google searches using five phrase combinations for each flavour and brand, including terms like “[flavour] ice cream near me” and “how to make homemade [flavour] ice cream.”

Among the keywords explored were terms like “how to make earl grey ice cream,” “pina colada ice cream,” “amaretto ice cream recipe,” “where to buy Halo Top ice cream,” and “how to make homemade rum and raisin ice cream.”

By compiling this data, the team uncovered which ice cream flavours are currently the most searched for, and likely the most loved, across the UK.

Whether you’re reaching for a cone or planning a homemade recipe, these insights might just help you pick your next favourite scoop.
