Galliard Homes has appointed a new Head of Strategic Partnerships to lead their growing portfolio in the South West of England

Galliard Homes has appointed a new Head of Strategic Partnerships to lead their growing portfolio in the South West of England. George Baffoe-Djan, who began his career in the industry with Galliard as a Graduate Trainee 20 years ago, will work with local authorities, land owners, agents, and housing associations across London and the South West.

As the new Head of Strategic Partnerships, George will oversee the South West portfolio and be pivotal in securing new land and partnership opportunities as the housebuilder looks to strengthen their offering in cities including Bristol, Bath and Exeter following sales success in the region. George’s role will also entail overseeing construction and sales progress, as well as operational asset management.

Working in joint venture with regional partner Acorn Property Group, Galliard has one live scheme in the St Werburghs district of Bristol, the £42 million regeneration scheme Brooks Dye Works which is over 50% sold since launching last year. This summer, the partnership successfully sold the scheme’s 24 affordable housing units to Bristol City Council, the first time the council has acquired directly from a private developer.

The partnership’s previous schemes, Brandon Yard on Bristol’s Harbourside and Hope House in Bath, have both now sold out, with the high-quality specification and exceptional locations proving very popular with buyers.

From 2015 to Summer 2021, George was a key member of Galliard’s Land Acquisition and Development Management teams, helping to secure several sites across Greater London with a combined GDV of £176 million.

George’s previous roles included working at Mace, where he was part of the successful bid team for appointment to The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) framework, in addition to managing and coordinating £240 million of regeneration projects in Tower Hamlets and Croydon. George has also led successful land acquisition campaigns and managed sites for Bellway Homes and Barratt Homes.

George Baffoe-Djan, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Galliard Homes says: “I am excited to be representing Galliard Homes with our regional partners and working to secure new land and partnerships with agents, local authorities and housing associations. I began my career with Galliard, following university, over twenty years ago and gained my first insight into the successful delivery of mixed-use regeneration projects and key site acquisitions. I am immensely proud to be handling the South West portfolio and strengthening our presence in these local markets.”

Don O’Sullivan, CEO of Galliard Homes says: “George has been an integral part of Galliard’s land acquisition and development management teams and we are delighted he is our new Head of Strategic Partnerships, to form dynamic partnerships and support our existing regional partners. At Galliard we are focused on supporting and retaining the best in the business and George’s career trajectory from graduate trainee to leading our South-West portfolio is testament to this.”
