GB NEWS CELEBRATES RATINGS HAT-TRICK
GB NEWS is celebrating a ratings hat-trick after beating the BBC News Channel and Sky News for the THIRD month in a row.
Official BARB ratings for September show the People’s Channel was once again Britain’s Number One news channel, and came out on top over its rivals just as it did in July and August.
The results, drawn from the industry’s official BARB ratings for September 2025, track total audience share and average views.
In September between 6am and 2am, GB News saw its average views rise month-on-month by almost four per cent from 84.63k to 87.67k (1.48 per cent share).
This is the highest ever number for monthly average views and put GB News ahead of the BBC News Channel, who recorded 84.83k in September (1.44 per cent share).
And it leaves Sky News behind and in a distant third place with 73.79k average views (1.25 per cent share).
The data also shows GB News’ primetime audience grew by nearly 10% last month with average viewers rising from 94.8K in August to 104.2K in September (1800–2259).
In contrast, BBC News and Sky News both lost share month-over-month, with BBC falling from 1.23% to 0.92% (primetime) and Sky dropping from 1.2% to 0.78%. Also up in September was GB News daily reach which has now soared month-on-month since July.
GB News CEO Angelos Frangopoulos said the latest success was down to journalism that is “giving a voice to those ignored by the establishment media”.
He said: “GB News is connecting with our communities because our journalism puts people first. It takes journalistic courage to confront the tough questions we face as a nation. That’s why GB News is Britain’s News Channel. I’m proud of the entire team and what they achieve every day, giving a voice to those who have been ignored for too long by the establishment media.”
GB News’ ratings success comes as they embark on an exciting global expansion. Last month the channel launched The Late Show Live, its brand new two-hour nightly show broadcast directly from Washington D.C.
The programme, hosted on Monday to Thursday by Bev Turner, and by Ben Leo on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays has added an extra 14 hours of live programming into GB News winning schedule.
The People’s Channel also launched in Israel last month, in a landmark move that further extends its international reach. The channel is now available nationwide on Cellcom TV, one of Israel’s largest television platforms.
In August it launched on Truth+, the TV streaming platform gaining significant traction across the United States. As part of the free basic package, GB News will now be available to audiences worldwide via Truth+ apps on iOS and Android, the web, and connected TVs including Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire, and Roku.
As part of its long-term vision, GB News has made a commitment to providing free, mass-reach broadcasting for all of Britain, ensuring the channel continues to serve the public.
