GLAD MIDSOMMAR! CELEBRATE THE NORDIC HOLIDAY AT EKSTEDT AT THE YARD

Mark the longest day of the year in true Swedish style with a joyful Midsommar celebration at Ekstedt at The Yard, the Westminster restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Niklas Ekstedt. Taking place on Friday 20th June and Saturday 21st June, expect a spectacular fusion of nature, tradition and Nordic fire cooking in the heart of London.

Guests will be welcomed a refreshing Pomelle Spritz as they craft their own traditional Swedish flower crown – a traditional Midsommar ritual. Suitably crowned, settle in for a five-course feast cooked over open flames, culminating the traditional Swedish way with a shot of Nuet Aquavit.

Ekstedt at The Yard’s Head Chef Luca Mastrantoni, captures the spirit of the summer solstice through fire, nature, and bold Nordic flavours. Begin with snacks of flatbread topped with charcoal cream and Swedish caviar, and a delicate steamed bun filled with smoked salmon mousse. For mains, enjoy dill-cured trout with smoked cream cheese, potato, and pickled apple, followed by a Swedish favourite, traditional Köttbullar (meatballs).

To finish, a bountiful summer dessert table is laden with Swedish candy and clotted cream gelato with preserved strawberries, Mördeg (shortcrust pastry) and verbena oil.

Priced at £85pp, the Midsommar dining experience is available for dinner on Friday 20th June, and for lunch and dinner on Saturday 21st June.

A wine pairing curated by Head Sommelier Klearhos Kanellakis is also available for £115pp with each pour designed to complement the dishes’ charred, smoky and uplifting flavours.
