Hard work and loyalty are the secrets behind my success, says Peter Andre
POP legend Peter Andre said hard work and loyalty are behind his success over the years in an interview with GB News.
He was commenting ahead of a series of performances to celebrate 30 years in showbiz this year.
Peter said: “I do think there’s something in working hard, definitely, and I think there’s something in being loyal.
“One thing to be said is the British people are incredibly loyal. They really are.
“Even when times are quiet and you’re not doing anything, there’s still that loyalty and it’s a wonderful thing to experience.
“Some of the people that come to the shows now were people that were there at the very beginning…and I think that’s also that also helps you with longevity, if you’ve got people supporting you all the way.”
“I’ve been with the same manager now for nearly 30 years, Claire, and from the very start, when I first had the music and the music was doing thankfully really well.
“I remember we had just got to number one and she said, ‘right, we need to get you into presenting’ and I said ‘why would I do presenting when I’m at the top of the charts?’
“She said because there’s going to come a time when the music’s going to slow down. You need to diversify. And actually she was right.
“I got to do all these different things over the last 30 years. I’m very lucky.”
In a studio discussion with Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster, Peter praised his son Junior: “He’s such a good kid and he’s so respectful.
“He’s going to be 18 in June and even last night, he was texting me saying , ‘I’m going to be home at this time, I’m on my way home, I’m home now.’
“You know, I do ask much from them but they’re so good. I think respect goes a long way because that’s what my dad was like, my dad was so strict.”
Asked if he is a strict father, Peter said: “I am but I think I’ve taken the bits from my parents that I loved.
“But then I’ve sort of lapsed a bit on things. I mean, for example, when my daughter sometimes dresses in things I don’t really want her to dress in.
“But I also think, you know what, every girl of that age is doing that.”
