Horniman Museum invites South Asian Underground Collective Daytimers to curate a day festival for all ages.

The Horniman Museum invites DAYTIMERS – to curate and programme a day festival celebrating South Asian artistry, with live music, DJs, talks, workshops & food on 15 June. Typically focused around the club space, DAYTIMERS – the collective at the forefront of the South Asian Underground movement.
“We are excited to collaborate with the Horniman to create a family-focused day of programming as part of our wider mission to further engage our community with inclusivity and accessibility at the heart of what we do.”
Spanning across the museum, bandstand, conservatory, gardens and pavilion, the festival will host various workshops, food stalls and performances throughout the day.
Music comes from a star-studded line-up including South East London-based Tara Lily, Tommy Khosla’s Jawari, NTS resident SWAY of the Verses, Jah Shaka disciple Sharan playing b2b with Kane FM resident Kaya M, and a long-awaited DAYTIMERS debut for dubstep legend V.I.V.E.K. Powered by custom built Leeds-based Cornerstone Hi-Fi soundsystem.
Mehfil will be enlightening the conservatory with a poetry takeover from Deen & Dunya, as well as a day of programming filled with panel discussions and talks. Broadcasting live from inside the Horniman museum, Lewisham-based radio station Sister Midnight FM will be hosting their residents and some special guests to bring the festival to the airwaves.
The festival coincides with the running of the Horniman’s Tea Exhibition, which will inform elements of the programming, including tea-tasting sessions.
