iLaw aims to claim a stake in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry via exciting new appointment

Innovative London law firm, iLaw, has recruited a new Senior Associate with expertise in blockchain and cryptocurrency as it seeks to diversify its offering to clients.

Allan Murray joins the firm from another prominent London practice where he gained significant experience in disputes concerning contracts, intellectual property, company directors and shareholders litigation and defamation.

However, it is his interest and expertise in blockchain and cryptocurrency platforms that garnered the interest of the team at iLaw.

Allan is currently advising on several international matters relating to this technology and is looking to grow the firm’s client base in this area.

Speaking about his appointment, Allan said: “I am delighted to be joining iLaw at this exciting time in the firm’s history as it looks to expand its client base and explore new areas of expertise.

“I hope my previous experience in the various industries with which I have worked will prove useful to the firm and my fellow colleagues.”

Allan also has experience of working with large private and AIM-listed companies working in a variety of industries including aviation, energy, fashion and retail, finance and publishing, which lend themselves well to the firm’s existing expertise in the employment, corporate, dispute resolution and intellectual property fields.

Justin Ellis, a Director at iLaw, said: “Allan brings considerable knowledge of the blockchain and crypto industries, which we hope to use to break further into this innovative sector.

“At iLaw, we are always looking at where the world is heading next so that we can remain ahead of the curve by providing highly tailored advice to our growing number of clients.”

Prior to joining the legal profession, Allan enjoyed a successful career in the media, another of iLaw’s key client sectors, where he spent six years working at BBC Radio in London.
