IN A WHILE CROCODILES: I’M A CELEB COULD NEVER RETURN TO OZ

With I’m A Celeb returning to Gwrych Castle for the 2021 season, bookmakers now see Wales as the favourite to be home for the 2022 season as well, making the show increasingly unlikely to ever return to Australia.

Paddy Power make it odds-on at 4/7 that the celebs will set up camp in Wales again next year, with the chances of them heading down under rated at a longer 5/4.

The pandemic forced ITV bosses to swap the Aussie Bush for North Wales for the first-time last year and now the series is 3/1 to be permanently based in Wales.

Covid could further impact the show, with ITV priced at 4/6 to announce a contestant’s replacement due to COVID and 5/1 odds being offered on ITV being forced to end the 2021 series early due to COVID concerns.

And there’s nothing to split the locations for the 2023 edition, with both Wales and Australia rated at 5/6 to host.

However, following the decision to stay in Wales another year, rumours are circulating that the show could be on the way out with the 2021 season priced at 10/1 to be the finale.

Alternatively, IAC is backed at 14/1 to replace the outback in Australia for the rainforest of Brazil in time for the 2022 season.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “The jungle experience has been such an important part of I’m A Celeb, and producers will be desperate to get back out to Australia sometime soon. But after a successful 2020 series in Wales and with global travel still a shambles, there may be extra incentive to keep things local for a while.

“After all, once the celebs start undertaking gruesome trials and eating unmentionables – it doesn’t really matter where they are, does it?”
