Irish actor and musician JD Kelleher releases burst of positivity with ‘Give Me Light’
The show must go on! London based Irish actor and musician JD Kelleher has today released a burst of positivity, with new single and video ‘Give Me Light’: https://youtu.be/cleCi87Ybuc
Described by JD as “…a cool, chilled, gay love song with lovely appropriate pronouns and everything”, the new video (released 15 January 2021) delivers a cinematic and encapsulating choreography of dance, reflection and light, filmed on the idyllic beaches of Fanore, County Clare. ‘Give Me Light’ also rounds up JD’s debut EP ‘The Ugly Tree’, as the final track which can be streamed / downloaded on all platforms now.
JD Kelleher first landed on the Irish music scene when his 2015 cover of Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ topped the Irish rock charts for the marriage equality referendum, landing him a nomination for Best Music Video at Dublin’s ‘Short Film & Music Festival’ in 2017 [https://youtu.be/5UHbl370K9c], and has since been making music alongside an acting career that includes most of Ireland and the UK’s theatre venues. An actor by trade, it’s perhaps not surprising that JD’s videos and visuals play a big role in his music.
2020 through to 2021 has been a tough year for many, with live-music out of reach and theatre doors closed, but still, the digital world prevails; delivering positivity, support and musical invigoration, and JD Kelleher’s ‘Give Me Light’ is a prime showcasing of just that.
