Jamie Stimpson of JSMV in line for ‘most inspirational man’ award

Jamie Stimpson, one half of music duo JSMV, has been nominated for the ‘Most inspirational man in Milton Keynes’ award.

Aside from Jamie’s graft in the music industry, his work within the local community is noted year on year. It isn’t just about raising money for charity, it’s about supporting local independent projects / charities and helping to make a difference to those close to home.

Jamie & his colleague Dom Rampello created an independent music venue in Milton Keynes called UNIT NINE. Not only has this opened a new avenue for the local music scene but both Jamie & Dom have written music programmes to help support and work with people who have learning difficulties, depression, anxiety and low self esteem. It’s proven to be a huge success and has changed many lives.

Dan, one of the course participants spoke to us and said, “This course opened my eyes to a life I never thought I’d see. I’ve always struggled with self belief. Being 22 and jobless is tough in today’s society. Jamie & Dom were key to helping me motivate myself. I was on the course for 6 weeks and I left with job interviews and placements. Jamie has stayed in touch with me since the course, he randomly texts me and challenges what I’m doing day to day, it’s been an incredible experience.”

It’s clear to see Jamie’s nomination for the “Most inspirational man in Milton Keynes” award is justified.

“It’s a real privilege to have been recognised.  As most would say, there are far from deserving people in the world facing tougher times, but it’s nice to know people have taken the time to nominate me, I appreciate it hugely.

We’re following Jamie’s music journey closely but knowing he’s not only helping to build his own career, but others too, gets a huge tick from us.
