Acclaimed British singer-pianist Joe Stilgoe returns to Ireland this March with A Night at the Movies, a dazzling celebration of iconic film music, performed with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
Timed perfectly with the Oscars on 15 March, the show is a joyous tribute to the songs and scores that have defined cinema — from timeless golden-age classics to modern Academy Award winners. Expect unforgettable melodies, virtuosic piano, and Joe’s trademark wit and storytelling woven through an evening of pure Hollywood magic.
Audiences will enjoy spectacular orchestral arrangements of “That’s Entertainment” (That’s Entertainment!, 1974), “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, 1969), and “Moon River” (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, 1961), alongside a glittering lineup including “Cabaret” (Cabaret, 1972), “Top Hat / Puttin’ on the Ritz” (famously featured in Idiot’s Delight and later immortalised in Young Frankenstein), plus medleys from High Society, The Artist and the unforgettable world of James Bond.
