Jonathan Antoine Releases New Single ‘Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth’ – Taken From ‘ChristmasLand Platinum Edition’ – Out 19th Nov

Powerhouse tenor Jonathan Antoine has today released a brand new festive single, The Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth, the second track taken from his latest album ChristmasLand Platinum Edition. Available to download and stream on 19th November, the album will be available to buy physically on 3rd December. Jonathan will also perform a Christmas concert at London’s stunning Cadogan Hall on 18th November.

Commenting on the new single, Jonathan says: “Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth is based on the Bowie/Crosby recording from 1977, a song which has an utterly bizarre backstory but somehow comes together to be deeply touching. The collision of multiple worlds in such an understated way was enough to bring me to tears when I listened to it for the first time.

Trying to bring that sense of meaning into my performance was the most paramount challenge in recording ChristmasLand Platinum Edition. As such we ended up scrapping the majority of the original vocal and re-attacking the track with surgical precision at Masterchord studio just 2 days later.

There are very few feelings stranger than singing a counterpoint to a melody which you are also singing – harmonising to the same rhythm is one thing, but having this other fellow who sounds very much like me attempt to distract me whilst I sing the main line is quite the thing to deal with! But it is immeasurably fun when you get into the swing of it!”

ChristmasLand Platinum Edition is a very special version of Jonathan’s first ever Christmas album, ChristmasLand, which was released last year. Featuring six brand new tracks, including first single The Prayer which was released in October, it also includes a bonus DVD of Jonathan’s Christmas 2020 livestream in full, filmed last year at the prestigious Union Chapel in Islington.

Additionally, Jonathan will give his very first Christmas concert on 18th November. ChristmasLand Live will take place at the stunning Cadogan Hall in London, where he will perform a stripped back show, highlighting his raw talent and remarkable vocal prowess.

He will also be embarking on a huge tour of North America for December 2021, performing at prestigious venues throughout the US and Canada, including the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in New York and Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto.

Jonathan became a global sensation at the age of 17, following an astounding audition on Britain’s Got Talent, which went on to become the world’s most viewed television audition of any performer in history. He later released two best-selling albums with his singing partner, Charlotte Jaconelli, before going on to have further success as a solo artist and becoming the youngest tenor to achieve a #1 classical album.
